These Faith Talk resources are meant as starters … the conversation can continue and hopefully stimulate some creative, thought-provoking discussion and action!
As well as using them in an already-running group, what about during worship – get people talking! with a young people’s group, church meeting even! What about with the folk in the sheltered housing where you visit and lead worship? You don’t need special knowledge of the subject. The two important things are (a) to hear and respect people’s points of view, however different; (b) to respect confidentiality.
There are now 10 FaithTalk starters for you to download including the newest on Church Membership. Please let us know what you think about them, how you used them, what differences they’ve made. If you have any suggestions for topics please let us know! If you would like to write one – ask us for our guidelines. Here they are for you to download and use:
Here are two personal stories from church members, one about living with depression, the other about living with a temporary disability. They’re worth reading for themselves but could also be a valuable resource if you are using the FaithTalks on eg Mental Health, Health and Wholeness.
